Official Change Notification
Lean Sigma Corporation is implementing an important update across all certification programs. This change reflects our ongoing commitment to elevate standards, protect the long-term value of Six Sigma certification, and provide greater clarity to professionals, employers, and organizations worldwide.
The Change
Effective 9/25/2025, all Lean Sigma Corporation certifications will transition designation formats from the LSSxx model (Lean Six Sigma) to the CSSxx model (Certified Six Sigma).
-
CSSYB – Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt
-
CSSGB – Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
-
CSSBB – Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
-
CSSBB+ – Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (Premium: 5 Project Tollgates and MBB Mentoring)
Why The Change Matters
-
Professional Recognition – CSSxx designations provide clear, consistent identifiers that are immediately understood by employers, HR departments, and resume scanners, reinforcing the credibility of the credential.
-
Industry Consistency – The Six Sigma certification market is fragmented, with many providers using different naming conventions. Standardizing around CSSxx creates a professional, unified model that can strengthen the value of certifications across the industry.
-
Raising the Bar – This step supports Lean Sigma Corporation’s broader initiative to set higher requirements for certification, including mandatory project validation by Master Black Belts. By linking rigorous requirements with a clear and consistent designation, the Six Sigma credential is protected against dilution by weak, exam-only providers.
Impact on Certificate Holders
-
All previously earned Lean Sigma Corporation certifications remain valid and recognized.
-
Certificates have been automatically updated to reflect the CSSxx designation.
-
Updated digital certificates are available now and can be downloaded directly from learner accounts.
Industry Leadership
With this change, Lean Sigma Corporation is taking the lead in demonstrating what Six Sigma certification should represent: proven capability, validated project results, and global recognition under a consistent naming convention. If adopted by other top-tier providers, this model could bring greater alignment and credibility to the industry as a whole.
