Founded in 2010, Lean Sigma Corporation has evolved alongside the Six Sigma profession, moving beyond training delivery to focus on certification integrity, rigor, and long-term professional value. Our work centers on ensuring that Six Sigma certification reflects demonstrated competence, not participation alone.

Our Role in Six Sigma

As Six Sigma has matured into a widely adopted methodology, certification has become increasingly important and increasingly inconsistent. Titles alone no longer communicate what a certified professional is capable of doing.

Our role is to maintain clarity around what Six Sigma certification represents at each level by enforcing requirements that reflect real responsibility, applied knowledge, and professional judgment.

Our certification framework reflects increasing scope and complexity, from foundational understanding to leadership of complex, cross-functional improvements, ensuring that each credential signals meaningful readiness.

The Foundation of Our Standards

Lean Sigma Corporation’s certification framework was developed and refined by a practicing Six Sigma Master Black Belt with decades of applied experience leading, teaching, and certifying professionals across industries.

The underlying curriculum, assessments, and certification requirements are based on original courseware, reference materials, and instructional systems authored specifically for professional Six Sigma practice. This includes multiple published works on Six Sigma and project management, as well as comprehensive training programs used by universities, corporations, and training providers worldwide.

Rather than assembling content from disparate sources, Lean Sigma Corporation’s certification system was built end-to-end by practitioners who understand what Six Sigma capability looks like in practice, and how it must be evaluated to remain credible.

This foundation ensures that certification standards are not theoretical abstractions, but practical benchmarks grounded in real-world application.

What We Do

Lean Sigma Corporation issues professional Six Sigma certification at the Yellow Belt, Green Belt, and Black Belt levels. Each certification corresponds to a defined scope of knowledge, professional responsibility, and expected capability.

Certification is earned through structured requirements designed to validate professional competency and aptitude. These requirements may be satisfied through:

  • Course-Based Certification
    Capability is developed and assessed through structured online instruction and evaluation.

  • Exam-Only Certification
    Existing knowledge and experience are validated through an independent online assessment.

In all cases, certification is issued by Lean Sigma Corporation. Certified professionals are recognized with a professional designation (e.g., "Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB)"), issued a custom digital certificate, and listed in our official certification directory with a unique certification number.
